FIESTA FEVER

Co-owner of the Together group David Petřík believes a ‘proper Mexican restaurant’ is missing in Prague. Enter Mexická, a bold new venture housed in a former Holešovice brewery that’s wowing patrons with three floors of authentic cuisine, connected by a golden Aztec staircase.

On each level is a different kitchen featuring authentic Mexican machines, including a taco station, firepit and grill, and a ceviche bar prepared next to an aquarium. Traditional cocktails and churros for dessert top off the dining experience.

Though Petřík’s comment may ring true for Prague’s Mexican diaspora, one of the city’s best offerings for those seeking Latin American cuisine is La Patrona, which is opening a new location on Dlouhá street on March 22. Pair some delicious tacos with a besos de mezcal, margarita, or tequila espresso martini, mixed expertly in the bar.

HOLY SPIRITS AND NATURAL WINES

For a drinks experience elevated to a spiritual plane, head over to Národní, where the concept of a religious confessional is merged with a bar at Bitter Priest. After connecting the seemingly incongruous roles of bartender and priest during busy evenings listening to patron’s stories, bartender Filip Žák has established a visionary space which will guide you through the evening with hip-hop music and quality cocktails.

A more stripped-back night out can be found at the newly opened The Sip in Vinohrady, already an Instagram hit with its charcuterie plates and natural wines. Perfect for dates or cozy catch-ups with friends, split a bottle sourced from south Moravia or further reaches of Europe over a plate of irresistible pistachio burrata.

CIAO AND CHEERS

The Italian boom in Prague continues. From the creative minds behind Karlín’s Sugo comes Enoteca—a stripped back breakfast, lunch, and dinner establishment in Jiřího z Poděbrad. Try the Cotoletta alla pizzaiola, Italian-American chicken with parmesan, and negroni olives, as recommended by co-owner Andrea Sirtoni, and pair it with unique imported Italian natural wine.

Go gourmet in an inconspicuous passage on Dlouhá street, where quality sardines, caviar, and seafood delicacies line fridges at Filé Shop & Deli. Pick and mix delectable bites along with premium wines, and be sure to try their salmon bagel, comparable to New York’s Russ & Daughters’.

A TASTE OF ETHIOPIA

In a homely setting in Žižkov, dig into a rich, hands-on dining experience, where guests enjoy traditional Ethiopian dishes like doro wat and injera—a sourdough flatbread used to scoop up hearty stews—at etCorner. Beyond food, etCorner fosters a community spirit, regularly hosting gatherings to bring locals and expats together.

SKEWERS AND SIPS

Prague’s beloved skewer-based dining concept, Špejle, is expanding with a brand-new location at Jungmannova 20. This second branch brings an even more spacious and inviting atmosphere, featuring an open kitchen where guests can watch their tapas-style bites being prepared. With a unique pay-by-the-skewer system, you can tailor your meal to your appetite, one bite at a time.

Nestled in Prague's Karlín district, BA-LĂM Coffee offers a unique fusion of Asian flavors and specialty brews. This café serves an all-day brunch menu featuring dishes like kimchi sandwiches with prosciutto and hermelín cheese, as well as avocado toast topped with scrambled eggs, pumpkin seeds, chili, and cherry tomatoes. Their beverage selection includes traditional Vietnamese drip coffee and specialty drinks such as coconut coffee and 'cà phê muối'—a robust Vietnamese coffee with a salted foam.

SPOONFULS OF UKRAINE

The Boršč, renowned for its authentic Ukrainian cuisine, has expanded from its Vinohrady bistro to a new restaurant in Prague's emerging culinary hotspot, Holešovice. This new venue offers an inviting atmosphere to savor traditional dishes like borscht and varenyky.
