“Come visit us and reveal the magic that unfolds after clicking the checkout button on Amazon,” says the Amazon Tours website.
In operation since June, Amazon Tours aim to give the public a glimpse behind the scenes of the Amazon fulfillment center in the Dobrovíz neighborhood of Prague 6.
Thus far some 600 people have visited the complex, roughly the size of thirteen football pitches, reportedly among the largest freestanding building of this type in the Czech Republic.
The Czech headquarters of the U.S. on-line retailer, which includes a corporate office and return center, employs 3,000 people. Tours attendees will see how orders are assembled, packed, and dispatched.
The hour-long tours are held once a month with morning and afternoon time slots. Tours run from January until early October.
A human resources representative for Amazon Czech Republic recently told iHned.cz that the tours are helping to raise awareness of the Amazon brand in the country and show potential employees what it is like to work for the company.
The distribution center opened in Prague in September 2015.
