With Prague Christmas Market Madness 2017 about to get underway, here are some festive tips for smaller scale holiday shopping events

If you believe the hype Prague is one of the world’s most festive holiday destinations. But for those of us who call the Czech capital home, those oh-so-merry markets can mean stress, crowds, and anything but good cheer.

With the countdown to the Prague Christmas markets on—Náměstí Míru opens a week from today on November 20—these events offer a chance to do some early Christmas shopping in relatively sane surrounds:

Café Záhorský Christmas Sellers Event

Beloved for its fantastic service and decor Café Záhorský regularly exhibits local artists including the newly opened Encounters with the Psyche by Prague illustrator Christine Lee whose stunning coloring books will be on sale at this selling event devoted to local artisans.
