Large indoor playground and restaurant where you pay to get in and stay for an unlimited time. The 1300 m2 area includes a five-storey climbing frame with 3 side-by-side slides and one huge tube slide, a baby area, ball pool, track for bikes and cars, and craft zone. There’s a stage area with a sound system for song and dance shows, and the kids can join in, too.

The shopping center Galerie Butovice at Nove Butovice is located on Radlická 117 in Prague 5. From metro station Nove Butovice it’s a seven minute walk. Many buses pass the center, for a list click here.

You’re not allowed to bring your own food or drinks, except for baby food or food for kids with special dietary needs. Posted rules include: no jumping or climbing on the slides, no climbing safety nets, no damaging equipment. Children who behave aggressively can be thrown out without compensation. Shoes must be taken off, but bare feet are not allowed. Food and drink can only be consumed in the seating are, not the carpeted play area.

Each child is given a “sloník” coin, worth 9 CZK, that can be used on a Haribo candy bag (8 pieces) or towards a small toy from the gift shop. The electric motorbikes are a big attraction, but there are only four of them, so it can get competitive. If you stay late, things open up as people go home for dinner, around 18:30.

There is free Wi-Fi, a very good connection.

A pleasant surprise. I ordered the 200g grilled salmon with basil & wasabi cream sauce for 139 CZK and it was excellent. It came with the perfect little salad (good dressing, too) and the side order of grilled vegetables (40 CZK) was heaping and done just right. For kids, they have the usual; we ordered chicken “řízek” and mashed potatoes with bits of ham (see food photos in gallery). The kids menu includes a toy and “limonada.” I prefer to buy real juice for my kids, so I ordered it separately. When it came, it wasn’t real juice, just the Cappy “nápoj” with 20% juice. Too bad, since you’re not allowed to bring your own, that they only offer sugary drinks with no real nutrition. In all, a fine meal, I hope they keep up the standard as time goes on.

This place is great for babies; they even have their own play area. There’s a microwave and sink for preparing food, a cradle in the cafeteria area, and a separate quiet room for putting babies down. There’s not so much here for older kids, apart from trampolines. There were no TV screens. The dance studio is perfect for older kids, for example there’s a hip-hop dance class for kids 10 and over. Schedule for dance classes here.

I find out what the rules are pretty quick in these places, because my daughter is always breaking them. She got told off for climbing on the elephant’s trunk and sitting on the caterpillar tunnel. It’s nice the staff keep an eye out for dangerous behavior, and since they’re Real Nurses and are paid to babysit even young children, they have to monitor everyone closely. All in all, very safe.

Non-member kids pay a 149 CZK entrance fee, and parents pay nothing. If you sign your kids up to be babysat, they don’t pay the entrance fee. Slonikov even takes care of babies. So that’s pretty good value, right there. Everything you buy is charged to the smart card you’re given on entry, so you play just once when leaving, and they accept credit cards.

If you become a member, you get unlimited visits within a certain time period; for example, with a 1600 CZK 1-month membership you could come all day, every day. There is also a “10-Entrance Card”, but the savings are minimal and you have to use up your 10 trips within 2 months. Unless you live in the area or your kids are nuts about the place, I’m not sure that’s such a great deal.

This is a great new option for some family downtime. It’d be perfect for times when you have guests with children – you and the other adults can catch up over a nice coffee or meal while the kids do their thing. It’d be a good choice if you’re ever stuck with the kids on a holiday but you have work to do, or email to catch up on. The acoustics of the place are actually quite good – they’ve done a few things to keep it from sounding like a warehouse, and soft Czech kiddie pop plays in the background the whole time. I give it points for great décor, good food, and plenty of comfortable adult seating.

Other places in the area? – The same shopping center also has a bowling alley and mini golf.
