Czechia is becoming an increasingly popular destination for foreign students who seek English-taught degrees for an affordable price. While Charles University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, private institutions are also gaining a positive reputation for the wealth of study opporutnities and qualifications that they offer.

According to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds ranking, three Czech universities made it into the world’s top 500 higher-educational institutions, with Charles University ranked highest, at 248th, followed by Masaryk and Czech Technical University.

Some of the most popular fields of study for foreigners matriculating in the Czech Republic include natural sciences, IT, education, international and diplomatic studies, and healthcare. While Prague is home to about half of all international students in Czechia, cities like Ostrava, Hradec Králové, or Brno are becoming major hubs for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies, with constantly growing student bodies and campuses.

MBA programs traditionally have a strong presence in Czechia and degrees from the Czech business schools are considered a good value. Continuing education for professionals and non-degree programs for those looking to upskill or change careers are also becoming more prevalent.
